Week 31

Sorry that this email is coming today! Yesterday was labor day so all of the libraries were closed.

This week has been going pretty well. Coming up this Thursday Sister Christensen is getting transferred, I will be staying in this area!

We've had some pretty interesting experiences this week. First of all, apparently I'm shorter than I thought. The ward member that we live with has a wall filled with different missionaries heights and stuff so of course my companion and I had to conform to the tradition and put ours up as well. Apparently I'm shorter than 5'2". MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE!!!! bahaha that was a really awkward realization and my companion was dying of laughter.

Another random thing, stink bugs really enjoy living in our attic, so now we've got a whole graveyard of them just sitting upstairs. Hm...they're EVERYWHERE. Although it could definitely be much worse.

Another really funny thing happened this week. We went to visit a family whom we had never met before and the mom and dad told us a hilarious story. About 5 years ago the family had not been on a vacation together, so they decided that they needed to take a trip to florida. The mom decided that since they were going out, she wanted to treat herself. Before they headed off she got her hair and nails done and she bought really expensive perfumes and conditioners, adding up to a little over $400. So the family heads off to the airport, but due to traffic they are running late. Finally once they get there and get up to security...the mom discovered that in order to get through security she could not have any liquids over 3 oz. in her carry on....she had ALL of her really expensive stuff in there. The flight is about to leave really soon so her football player husband grab up the suitcase and starts sprinting back to the front to see if they could check the bag. He gets up to the desk and the woman says, "Um sorry sir. If you would've been here 60 seconds ago, you would've been able to check it. You'll just have to throw everything away". 60 SECONDS. That's all he missed it by. Now of course the plane is probably about 5 minutes away from leaving. This ward member grabs his suitcase, lifts it up and starts sprinting through the airport in an attempt to make it on the flight before it leaves.  That would've been quite a sight. He's huge. And He makes it just in time as the door slams behind him. The wife was quite shocked that he had made it back in time, but was quite saddened that he hadn't been able to get the stuff checked. And to this day, the wife still has not treated herself to those again. She goes for the knock offs. Crazy story, right?

This week we had to take the Green Family off their baptismal date :( We're hopping that they'll end up getting baptized sometime in September, but we will have to see!!

Although we do have some good news as well!!! One of our investigators came to church!! We weren't sure if she would even be willing to come, but she said that she really loves babies so she would come to sacrament and then she'd really like to volunteer to help with all of the babies in nursery. So she gets to church and ends up listening to all of sacrament AND she even decided to go to Sunday school before she went to nursery!! It was awesome. When a ward member asked her if she would be coming back she said, "YES!!!! I'll be here next week also!!! And who knows, maybe the week after that as well!!!!" It was awesome.

But anywho....that's about it for the week!! By Thursday I will have a new companion and all that stuff!! Have an absolutely awesome week!! and hopefully I should have some pictures to send you all soon.....Love you!! :)
